Outlines Sunway’s expectations and requirements for suppliers to uphold the Group’s ethical standards and conduct business in a legally and socially responsible manner. Suppliers must adhere to the following:

Advocating a Sustainable Supply Chain Towards Decarbonisation
Purchase of Eco-label Products
- Sunway Malls source paper products from FSC-certified mills and FSC managed forests only
Over 588 million sheets of paper purchased in 2025 were FSC-certified
Embodied Carbon Emissions
- Guided by global regulations on carbon-intensive products, we are preparing for the European Union’s Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM), which is in a transitional phase from 2023 and will be fully enforceable in 2026. To support this, we are collecting embodied carbon data for products manufactured by Sunway Building Materials Group and Sunway Quarry. This year, we have included data for our spun pile product, with plans to extend the process to all manufactured products. The data will enable us to develop a Product Carbon Footprint (PCF), providing a baseline and benchmark for assessing each product’s environmental impact, strengthening transparency, and guiding continuous improvement in sustainability performance.

Sustainable Products
- Within our Building Materials division, we uphold strict environmental certification standards through SIRIM ECO 023:2016 and SIRIM ECO 033:2019 eco-labels. Product quality assurance is guided by MS1380, MS1314, and MS1061 specifications and reinforced by ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 certifications across our operational sites.
- Our sustainable product portfolio includes the MyHIJAU-certified Environmental Pavers, which have also earned Singapore’s Green Label certification. We developed NeuPave, a water-permeable paving solution designed to mitigate urban flooding while promoting groundwater recharge and enhancing soil stability.
Green Lease Partnership Programme
- The Retail, Hospitality and Office divisions actively participate in the programme to promote international best practices, encourage behavioural change and support Malaysia’s 2050 net-zero emissions commitment.

Sustainability Collaboration Alliance Network (SCAN)
- Established by Sunway Malls in 2023, SCAN is a structured three-tier learning framework that seeks to raise the standard of sustainability practices across the retail sector. SCAN encourages retailers and retail centres to make sustainability a focal point of their business strategies.

As articulated by Deputy President Evan Cheah, AI and digital innovation are central to reimagining industries, enriching lives and future proofing communities in pursuit of a smarter, safer and more sustainable world. This top-down commitment is led by senior leadership, with appointed AI champions driving adoption across functions. Targeted training, awareness programmes and practical tools, such as HR chatbots, make AI accessible and relevant in daily operations.
Sunway is committed to the responsible, sustainable use of AI. We monitor AI model performance to identify potential drift, accuracy decline or unintended outcomes. We also regularly assess our AI models for potential bias, restrict the use of sensitive or high-risk AI applications to approved business cases only, and prioritise energy-efficient AI infrastructure and cloud providers with renewable energy commitments where applicable.

- Introduced in 2025, Sunway Group’s HR chatbot provides employees with on demand support for HR enquiries, including company policies, leave entitlements and procedures.
